Fifteen Individuals Indicted For Conspiracy To Distribute Drugs, Including Oxycodone, Cocaine, And Marijuana

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - On June 12, 2012, a federal grand jury in Greeneville returned a three count indictment against 15 individuals for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute drugs, including oxycodone, cocaine and marijuana in the Eastern District of Tennessee.

The investigation leading to these charges revealed that the individuals charged in this conspiracy were obtaining the oxycodone pills from pain clinics in Georgia and Florida and bringing them back to Tennessee for distribution.

Individuals charged in the indictment with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute oxycodone include: James Light, 64, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Jackie D. Dykes, a.k.a Darlene Dykes, 48, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Michael L. Dykes, 50, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Lorne L. Loucel, 32, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Lisa A. Crawford, 37, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Virginia D. Light, a.k.a. Ginger Light, a.k.a. Ginger Stone, 49, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Asa Kermit M. Calhoun, a.k.a. Kermit Calhoun, 33, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Steve A. Gooch, 29, of Rogersville, Tenn., Jonathan L. Light, 24, of Kingsport, Tenn., Jeremy R. Light, 28, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Michael B. Dykes, a.k.a. Brandon Dykes, 30, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Daniel L. Dykes, 29, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Christy D. Dykes, 32, of Rogersville, Tenn.; Levi D. Love, 24, of Kingsport, Tenn.; and Shandeeda M. Compton, a.k.a. Shandeeda Pauley, 31, of Rogersville, Tenn.

The indictment further charges James Light with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. Michael L. Dykes, Jackie D. Dykes, and Daniel L. Dykes are also charged with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana.

Fourteen of these individuals appeared in court on June 27, 2012, and one appeared in court on August 2, 2012, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dennis H. Inman. All entered pleas of not guilty to the charges in the indictment. The trial date will be set at a hearing on August 9, 2012.

If convicted, all face a maximum of 20 years in prison, a maximum fine of $1,000,000.00, and at least three years supervised release for the oxycodone conspiracy. James Light faces a mandatory term of 10 years in prison, a maximum fine of $10,000,000.00 and at least five years supervised release, for the cocaine conspiracy. Michael L. Dykes, Jackie D. Dykes, and Daniel L. Dykes face five years in prison, a maximum fine of $5,000,000.00, and at least four years supervised release. The all also face mandatory court assessments.

The indictment is the result of an investigation by the Hawkins County Tennessee Sheriff's Department, Sullivan County Tennessee Sheriff's Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Caryn L. Hebets will represent the United States.

Members of the public are reminded that an indictment constitutes only charges and that every person is presumed innocent until their guilt has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
