Illegal immigration slavery.

Illegal Aliens take jobs from Blacks in Alabama

The American people have spoken on immigration but the political elite will not listen because they are paid by their corporate benefactors not to listen...In America today, anything's for sale, even democracy.

Leonard Pitts is a black racist from the Miami Herald that graces the pages of the Bristol Herald Courier. He regularly attacks the Tea Party as racist (the Herald Courier is hostile to the Tea Party) and claims the massive crime, personal failure, and drug use in the black community is the fault of whites because of events that occurred half a century ago.

In his latest installment Looking for a job? Good news (11-5-2011) he laments the shortage of Hispanic labor in Alabama due to their crackdown on illegal aliens. He does attack the terrible working conditions in a sarcastic manner, but his real agenda is it's all white racism. These jobs have terrible working conditions so why does he think Hispanics deserve such treatment? Who is the real racist here?

There is no labor shortage. Let me repeat that: THERE IS NO LABOR SHORTAGE. There is in fact a large idle labor population in Alabama (and across the country) he won't want to discuss and I will. The following was submitted as the Herald Courier as a letter to the editor, I doubt it will ever get printed due to political correctness.

The fact is this system of illegal labor the government allows is simply another installment of crony capitalism and the fact is blacks suffer the worst from it. In my view black Americans get a raw deal.

Re: "Looking for a job? Good news", let's look at something racist' Leonard Pitts forgets: how about putting all of his fellow blacks that don't have a job in the fields starting with that large idle black population in Birmingham? $10.22 an hour is better than welfare, and Birmingham just defaulted on $4 billion in municipal bonds and needs help.

According to "The Northstar News and Analysis" (www.thenorthstarnews.com) in Alabama the black unemployment rate is nearly 20 percent, more than double the white rate.

So what if these farmers lose $40 million? If it cost $100 million in welfare, jails, etc. having to deal with this kind of low-achieving population, then we are better off. Or perhaps the meat packers, farmers, etc. might try improving wages and working conditions? What a novel idea in a country where the lowest wage has become a "right" for business. They would also be forced to end the appalling work conditions Mr. Pitts so derides.

Or they can simply automate the process? Why bother with innovation if the government supplies an endless stream of serf labor while socializing the cost? Immigration legal and illegal has been used to suppress wages for decades and blacks have been the hardest hit. The simple fact is if these farmers can't produce a product legally, somebody will find a way to do it without using Mexican serfs displacing poor Americans.

Mr. Pitts needs to end his race baiting and look at where the real problems are. If blacks/others are not willing to work for $10.22 an hour, cut off the welfare. If they are simply being displaced by illegal labor subsidized by taxpayers, to ignore it knowing blacks are the primary losers is truly racism.
